SYNOPSIS

Sasha is an ordinary little girl, or at least she appears to be. Since her mother died, she has been carrying a silence heavier than words. When her father decides to leave the city for the countryside, everything she knows slips further away.

In the strange forest at the edge of their new home, something is waiting. Led by her dog Chewie, Sasha stumbles upon Foxie, a small fox with an unusual golden glow who seems to belong to a world between worlds. What she does not yet know is that Foxie carries something invisible too.

When a shadowy figure tears Foxie away, Sasha has no choice but to face the forest alone, and with it, everything she has tried to forget. To save her friend, she will first need to find her own voice, somewhere between the trees and her grief.

Dark Woods is a poetic animated film about loss, friendship, and the strength found in the most unlikely places. A tender and enveloping European co-production between Troublemakers Originals, Fly Moustache (Portugal) and Funny Tales (Greece), supported by Canal+.
