In the dark, a match flares up and this spark, the founding act of all creation, reveals fragment by fragment the creature it has always been part of.
INFORMATION
It’s dark. A match is struck and brushes against a surface. A spark flies, and with it, an idea is born. Not yet a shape, just a light. In that flash, an eye appears: the eye of a creature still invisible, whose pupil is illuminated from within by the flame. We think we see something simple. Yet it is already something else. The flame reflects in the iris, splits in two, pulses—and around that eye, in that reflection, a shape begins to emerge from the darkness. Spikes. Matches. The creature had been there from the start, in the dark, whole and silent. The spark did not create it; it revealed it. The match that set everything in motion was just one of its spikes—the one that burns, the one that represents the single idea among all the others. The hedgehog now exists at the center of the frame, surrounded by ripples that radiate like a thought seeking to break free, to infect the world. The flame is blown out. The hedgehog vanishes into the darkness from which it never truly emerged. The idea, however, is already elsewhere.
