Imagine a world without mouths, without words. It is from this rather basic idea that Job, Joris & Marieke started to make MUTE, a short 3D animation film. The action takes place in a world populated by people without mouths, a bloody accident leads to the discovery that a mouth can be created by cutting oneself. This triggers a chain reaction that excites the entire population. All means are good to have a mouth, so we see situations that are more and more edifying but always in a good mood and music. With its offbeat humour, the film has won 14 awards at various international festivals.
