The Obvious Match: Tree & Rearview Mirror

As it approaches its tenth anniversary, Welcome to the Jungle is writing a new chapter in its history by unveiling its first brand campaign.

ANIMATED AD

As it approaches its tenth anniversary, Welcome to the Jungle is writing a new chapter in its history by unveiling its first brand campaign, created in collaboration with the Marcel agency and in partnership with several international artists.

In this lively and colorful commercial directed by Alex Scalvino, Wild So Serious’ Kawaii illustrations bring to life the iconic (and adorably kitsch) duo of the Christmas tree and the rearview mirror to illustrate the chemistry between a candidate and a company that are made for each other.

Fasten your seatbelts and set off on an adventure with this explosive duo! As the Christmas tree uses its tie as a lasso to reach its soul mate, the car interior becomes the setting for an action movie...
Wild So Serious's highly personal (and adorable) style is a perfect match for Welcome to the Jungle's bold and vibrant palette!

Using traditional 2D animation, director Alex Scalvino echoes the illustrative style of Wild So Serious, paying homage to the great references of classic animation from our childhood: squash-and-stretch, bold camera angles, fish-eye distortions, and abstract backgrounds create a fun and joyful universe!

The creative duo

Director

After 8 years with TROUBLEMAKERS as a post-production supervisor, Alexandre Scalvino is now making his debut as a director, creating his first campaign for the French brand Welcome to the Jungle in collaboration with the agency Marcel.

Alexandre Scalvino is passionate about animation and advertising, and his goal is to create impactful stories with memorable universes. Having worked as a supervisor and art director on advertising campaigns, film credits and VR projects at TM, Kuntzen + Deygas and H5 studios (Guerlain’s La Petite Robe Noire, Twingo, Pilot Pens, Le Petit Nicolas, Hennessy’s Mobilis…), he has now turned to directing and is represented by TROUBLEMAKERS.

Producer

Robin Noël began his career in feature films alongside Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, before moving into advertising where he produced campaigns for LVMH, L’Oréal, Orange and the Abbé Pierre Foundation. His international path through New York, London and Bangkok sharpened his visual culture and deepened his appetite for 2D and 3D animation as well as hybrid forms of storytelling.

Trained in narrative structure, he approaches every film with a script-doctor mindset: structure, rhythm, intention. At Troublemakers, he supports directors in staging, shot design and art direction, with a particular sensitivity for projects that blend craft, storytelling and visual innovation. His role is to turn an idea into a film that is clear, strong and singular.
